After enjoying a quality early blue marlin season on the Gold Coast, KEKOA has returned to the Gulf of Carpentaria for “Barra Madness 2011”. While our first guest don’t join us until next week, this week, Capt. Luke, deckie/guide Dan and Kelly have enjoyed some good pre-fishing at one of our favourite spots from 2010 – the Ducie River at Port Musgrave, near Marpoon. Some pictures from the last few days are below including this jump shot from the drains left.
The weather has been hot, as expected, with some beautiful sunrises and sunsets and roaring late afternoon storms thrown in for good measure. We’ve been getting some nice quality barra on our favourite spots from last year and have already discovered a few more.
Burley and the boys join us for the first 6-day trip on Tuesday, and we’re looking forward to welcoming them on board!
