Team Lightspeed On Board

This week we are joined Rob McCarthy,  Rob Ellyn and Co, who have traded the prized Blue Marlin fishery in Kona Hawaii to take on the Giant Blacks on the Great Barrier Reef . Rob McCarthy owns Lightspeed Sportfishing and recently  joined forces with legendary Kona Skipper Kevin Nakamaru to own one of  Kona’s iconic charter vessels the  Northen Lights, which Kevin has ran succesfully for the past 10 years or so. Rob Ellyn is the  Captain of Lightspeed a Cabo 47 which they bought to Kona in 2007 and this year had our own Jarad “Dingo” Bosshammer running the deck for Rob.

The Lightspeed team joined us Saturday, and  Capt Luke headed KEKOA to the  Linden Bank grounds for the day whilst there was no score the opportunities were abundant raising 8 marlin for 3 bites which all fell off unfortunately! Monday saw KEKOA head North to the ribbon reefs with reports that good numbers of fish were seen and captured along all of the ribbons. At # 2 ribbon Capt Luke found the fish again, going 1 from 4,  Rob’s brother Will McCarthy releasing a solid 300lber.

Good news for all is that Capt Peter B on board Sea Baby 1v has realeased the seasons first grander at #10 capping of a great couple of days angling for their charter, which had seen them already release an 800 and 900lber previous.
