2015 Gulf barra fishing week 3 – Team Toyota

Mike if you are reading, they made me do it! 😉

Those of you who already know Mike Carney, who has been fishing with Luke for years and is a big supporter of the Billfish Challenge in Townsville, is an absolutely card. He is so much fun to have on board, for everyone. He can tell some awesome stories from his many years of fishing (one of which was from the first time he met Luke who was captaining for him at the Lexus Tournament in Cairns, which Toyota and therefore Mike was a sponsor….)

Anyways, the faces he pulls for the fish shots are hilarious, so the boys told me I had to make a gif of it. So here it is 🙂

Pulling faces aside, (although Mike there are some more beauties below!) another great week was had. Besides the barra the boys caught some stomping XOS queenies around the 120 mark which gave them great fun on the light gear. And plenty variety including some nice fingermark and a grunter for our baked fish extravaganza (I use the coral trout recipe for that one – just as good!)

For the second year running, Artie got the big fish gong. Snuck in there on the last day!

And for the first year on the barra (although he’s a regular on Mike’s marlin trip), Nigel came along and didn’t even break a rod 🙂 Haha, who knew I was such a comedian!

Anyways, thank you to Mike as always. Always a pleasure to have on board.

See you in Townsville for the tourney in September!
