We just wrapped up another trip with Scott and Ian from Brisbane who joined us for three days. The highlight of the trip being a grander black marlin for Scott on Day two. The big black marlin was one of a marlin triple header, and while one of the fish fell off, Scott easily accounted for the small male fish which was released in a few minutes so that we could chase the larger. She gave him a tough fight and only did one set of jumps on the leader mid-fight before settling in deep. Scott had a battle on his hands to bring her up again but close to 30 minutes later, we finally had her beside the boat and Capt. Luke put her at easily 1000lbs! Congratulations Scott!!
Ian also caught his first ever marlin, a bucket list item crossed off! We finished with 5 black marlin for the trip including one other big girl at 850lbs. Photos and video to come.
